If I had seen this somewhere I would have thought it was an ant. Thanks for posting such a neat photo. I'll look closer at "ants" from now on.

I found some nymphs similar to this one along with adults of the alydid Hyalymenus tarsatus

. There was some variability in coloration among the nymphs I saw, too.

Alydidae.
I agree with the family identification, but not so sure about the genus. Pretty difficult to tell until they mature into adults. Moving to family page.
