Desert Beetle - Paracotalpa puncticollis

Size: One inch long.
Found this little guy in my kitchen, upside down. After realizing it wasn't my 3 year old's toy lady bug, I kept him for my husband to see, even though I thought it was dead at first. It appears he's just nocturnal. The closest image I could find is this one http://bugguide.net/images/cache/OK8KBKGK2KBQV0EQC04QA02QV06QA09QZSVQVK9QHS5KAKHKT01QCKVQHSIKOK8KHSUQY0GKOKGKRS2QHS8KY05QD0.jpg but the coloring is quite different, it might be the same kind.
