Metalmark? - Dasyfidonia avuncularia

Metalmark? - Dasyfidonia avuncularia
Pinnacles National Park, San Benito County, California, USA
March 22, 2014
I saw this butterfly on the High Peaks trail at Pinnacles NP yesterday. It looks for all the world like a Zela Metalmark (Emesis zela) to me, but I realize that doesn't make much sense. Sorry for the photo quality, it wasn't much in the mood for sitting still.

Moth: Geometridae: Dasyfidonia avuncularia
Moved from ID Request.

Thanks, Maury.
That makes much more sense.

You're welcome!
This March record is the earliest posted on Bug Guide to date.
Thanks!
