Carpenter Ant - Camponotus laevigatus

Carpenter Ant - Camponotus laevigatus
Stockton, San Joaquin County, California, USA
March 26, 2014
Size: 3/4 inch long
Found this walking across our floor. I have never seen an ant like this around my home. Members of my family did go for a nature walk @ Lodi Lake in Lodi, CA earlier in the day. Possible hitch hiking ant? Thank you in advance for the ID!

Moved
If you have any coast live oaks or valley oaks around, this could well be a local, not a hitchhiker. Look for the workers foraging at night on the limbs of oaks.

Carpenter Ant - Camponotus "something"
My first attempt at identification. Is this correct?
