Of course
Of course. Chaetae on the pleura of the Phora. I was too distracted by the leg spines.

Guide Page
John,
I started a guide page for
Coniceromyia
, but not finding much info to add to it. I haven't even been able to find the author of the genus. Would you mind adding whatever could? Thanks

Really?
How cool would that be. It wouldn't be the first time Tom Murray and I had the same species, with none elsewhere. We think there's possibly a worm hole connecting our yards. Now that you mention it, the abdomen does look a little different from my other
scuttle flies
. I'm pretty much clueless about flies. What is it about this fly leads to suspect
Spiniphora
? Thanks.

Spines
Shouldn't a fly with huge spines on the legs have spine in the name? At least, the leg spines are different than your older flies.
