I would think something
like Orthosia hibisci


Karen replied: "I think this might fit better in Orthosia revicta than O. hibisci. The distribution and host food seem to fit better, and BugGuide has a photo of a similar moth from Vancouver, not too far away from where I was."

 
Orthosia hibisci
Orthosia revicta has the cream-colored band on the inside of the reddish band in the subterminal area. This should be O. hibisci by that feature.
