Guessing we're looking at a good sized spider to have so many offspring. Does Larinioides produce that many young? Or are we looking at something like Araneus bicentenarius?

I think that's a great guess. I'm not sure how to be certain though.

It has an all black carapace like Cyclosa. I'm not sure that means anything though.
