Bottle Fly right? anyway-what takes flies-any species and sticks them to the bottom of leaves--dead I guess--and then a bit later the look like this. I found many many of these.

Its a type of fungus. Some insects when they are affected, will change their behavior to better ensure the life cycle of the fungus.
