This very distinctive bumble bee type really stood out amongst the other bees nectaring upon flowers of Rue (Ruta graveolens. This male had very distinct greenish eyes, a purplish/greenish/black abdomen and a very noticeable large white patch(grouping) of hairs on the middle leg,the tibia area (?). The identity, I believe, is a male Southern Carpenter Bee (Xylocopa micans). Request confirmation or correction.
