Brown Example of Pselliopus from Virginia - Pselliopus cinctus

Brown Example of Pselliopus from Virginia - Pselliopus cinctus
Albemarle County, Virginia, USA
I've mentioned several times that Pselliopus sp. is almost invariably bright orange here in this part West Virginia. In going through some old negatives, I came upon this brown one. I photographed it many years ago in early June in central Virginia. It was having a dickens of a time eating this ladybird. I assume it was the hard shell and chemical defenses that made the ladybird a difficult meal.
