Laphria
Okay back to this fine male Laphria from Wash state. Appears to go down to the visually difficult L. partitor vs. L. columbica. There may be a genitalic difference but I don't know it. The tibia and tarsi are supposed to have some red hair in partitor and be all yellow haired in columbica. Both have the terminal yellow abdominal segments and black proximal. May be enough to call this columbica. Would love to see one up close. These are in the group of Laphria that are found only along the Pacific coastlands of the W and NW up to Alaska in some species.

John and Jane
somehow your images got placed in Ichneumon Wasps (Ichneumonidae).

Thanks!
We used the data from the Ichneumon and forgot to move the flies!

Laphria
Excellent male western Laphria. Due to a computer crash a month or so ago I lost my western key and Norm is sending another as we speak. And you may note that Bullington's Laphria keys online appear to be dead for good. I will report back. Or Dr. Fisher may cruise by and beat me.
