Amaurobiid - Amaurobius ferox - male

Amaurobiid - Amaurobius ferox - Male
Marblehead, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA
December 21, 2006
Size: 13 mm
My neighbor Tammie James gave me a phone call tonight and exclaimed that there was a large spider clinging to the inside of the first floor bathroom door. To her relief, I hurried over and collected it. A bennetti male is smaller than this, and the pattern suggests ferox so I believe this is a male ferox.
