Explanation of Names

Lamyctes emarginatus (Newport 1844)

Size

<10 mm

Identification

no spurs on legs (spurs are typical in the "sister" family
a single ocellus on each side of the head
25 antennal segments
L. pius is similar but has 28 antennal segments.

soil and leaf litter

Small invertebrates.
