Is this a wasp? -
Cimbex americanus
Hwy. 191 between Blue Vista and Rose Peak, Greenlee County, Arizona, USA
July 18, 2007
I can't be sure what kind of creature this is, except it's not a fly. Can anyone help with the ID? Thanks in advance.

Cimbicid sawfly--maybe this one:
If correct, it would be our first record from Arizona.

Thank you Ken Wolgemuth!
Looking forward to confirmation. This locality is near the border with New Mexico about half way up the state.
