Appears it indeed is Platypedia. I am not too good with this genus so I will let Mr. Bill Reynolds tell you more. Nice find and very lovely photographs!

Thanks Jimmy. I've been quite busy elsewhere the lat 2 years so I haven't submitted anything in some time, but hopefully by the end of this year I will get to the last 2 years of bug photos I've taken. I certainly didn't stop taking photos!

species id is possible...
species id is possible, but there is still quite a bit of confusion among taxa and ranges for several of these. In conversations with some cicada specialists, there is a consensus that id from pic's for many of these little cicadas is sketchy. Will let you know what I track down soon.
