OMG!
its a Dogwood Thyatirid Moth - Hodges#6240 (Euthyatira pudens)!!!
sounds like youre a little bit excited! isn't it fun? i got a Thyatira lorata the other day.

WOW!
My first drepanoid. You think it's presence here in Arkansas might explain why the dogwoods are blooming in such profuse brilliance? ;)

Thanks,
Don

youre very welcome !!
I get a couple kinds but this was my first year getting Thyatira lorata and I was very excited! I think they are ugly caterpillars who resemble a sawfly larva and you could probably find them on nearby dogwoods. I doubt the adults feed but would emerge to lay eggs on those nice fresh leaves! go ahead and move this.
