Did you mean another species?
A couple of sites give the range of M. robusta as Neotropical [i.e. Paraguay (1) and the Amazon basin (2)], whereas the range of bulbosa is given as Nearctic (3) and more specifically western United States (4), and the range of griseola is also Nearctic - western US, type locality New Mexico (5).

Are these ranges incorrect/outdated?

Metatrichia [scratch robusta] bulbosa
Sorry about that!! You are absolutely correct Robin. I meant M. bulbosa, not M. robusta. Metatrichia bulbosa is the only Metatrichia species in North America. Brevitrichia griseola, the other species you referred to, was originally described in Pseudatrichia, but subsequently moved to Brevitrichia. Both are common and species rich genera on the New World. Metatrichia robusta is distinctive and valid species from the Neotropics as you pointed out.
