moth pupa? - Phereoeca uterella

Size: 3/8 inch approx.

I have found these all over all my life, these were from my wood pile. there also in the house and garage and on out side of house. hang on silk thread. how do i hatch these, and are they moths like people say? are there different kinds and do they have a season. what triggers the hatching?

Household casebearer

Thanks so much, now Im reallygrossed out. I would find these all over the house. I used to think it was tiny leaves tracked inside after taking my dog for a walk. I used to just pick up and throw away until I saw one move, ever so slightly. I asked my sister if she had ever seen one (I described it to her) and she said she had, and asked if it jumped. I never saw that.

Finding out its a larva makes me nauseous. Do they actually hatch into caterpillars or moths??

There is a caterpillar inside the case...
