Trogossitidae - Bark-gnawing Beetle, dorsal - Grynocharis quadrilineata

Trogossitidae - Bark-gnawing Beetle, dorsal - Grynocharis quadrilineata
100 Acre Wood, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
April 20, 2014
Size: 6.5 mm
Collected on a standing dead tree, April 8, 2014 and it's been in the freezer since then. I've pulled it out of the freezer several times and it's slow to move (who wouldn't be) but always alive. Today I again checked and it is still alive. I took photos anyway, with some movement of legs and antennae. I would set it free (if it came back fully) but now I'm curious as to how long it can remain alive in the freezer. I've never before had this happen with an insect in the freezer. Perhaps I've never checked this often.
