Western White-ribboned Carpet Moth - Mesoleuca gratulata

Western White-ribboned Carpet Moth - Mesoleuca gratulata
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
April 20, 2014
Size: 2.0 cm
We've been seeing them flutter about our local park for the past 3 or 4 weeks; this is the first that stayed still long enough to unlimber a camera. The park abounds with the larva's favorite foods, hazel, blackberry and thimbleberry. The park is a mix of mowed grass and Douglas fir - bigleaf maple forest, at sea level.
