Habitat: sand, burrows in agriculture field. Burrow depth: 10 inches. ID based on Beatty's Spiders of Illinois and Indiana (2002). Geolycosa missouriensis and G. wrighti are the only species recorded for the state. This specimen is not wrighti which has a black venter
