Bucculatricidae, Ribbed Cocoon-maker Moth, genitalia - Bucculatrix

Bucculatricidae, Ribbed Cocoon-maker Moth, genitalia - Bucculatrix
Red Oak Prairie, Allamakee County, Iowa, USA
June 3, 2013
T. Harrison says: "Bucculatrix sp. (female): The genitalia are very distinctive, and they do not match anything in Braun’s (1963) revision. The only species that is even close is B. flourensiae, but even at that, the genital morphology is not nearly a good enough match to call it the same as your moth, and everything else about it is wrong. So, your moth must represent an undescribed species."
