Balsam fir sawfly - Neodiprion abietis

Balsam fir sawfly - Neodiprion abietis
Saddleback Mountain, Kings County, New Brunswick, Canada
July 7, 2011
Locations of eggs in needles.

All related pictures (taken by various DNR staff) were taken during a localized outbreak. Species was determined (specimens) by the New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources entomologist. The pictures are of mediocre quality, but as there currently aren't any others on Bug Guide I thought they'd do the trick.
