Lactura rubritegula?
I'm wondering if this might be Lactura rubritegula Matson & Wagner, 2017, new species. A better view of the tegula and costa near the base would help. The lack of white in the hindwing fringe may exclude this possibility.

month of sighting is correct. Did you happen to collect the moth? The record for this species is needed for the Mississippi Ent. Museum. Perhaps it will return in May. 8-)

Sorry Marcia, this is the only one I can remember seeing. I will remember to look for it in May It is strange that I have seen some unusual moths return on the exact same day - or close - year after year! Of course, I am not there all the time, so I can't always tell if they repeat.
