Sobarocephala Fly - Sobarocephala flaviseta - male

Sobarocephala Fly - Sobarocephala flaviseta - Male
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
May 6, 2014
Size: BL~5mm
I'm sure I've seen this one before, but 'fly' has now joined the ranks of too many to search. Thanks
EDIT: My first male (white face)
UPDATE: Adds May datapoint for Alabama

LOL
Tunnel vision - I tried searching zimlich + small + fly. Perhaps Lauxaniidae, in the neighborhood of Neogriphoneura?

Sobarocephala flaviseta?
Possibly Sobarocephala flaviseta.

Not the same
It is not the same species as your Neogriphoneura sordida and it may not be the same family. I see no postocellar bristles here.

White Face
I haven't seen any with a white "face" before. I recently added two 48" fluorescent UV lamps to my setup and I'm getting LOTS of flies I don't recognize, mostly quite small.
