Robber Fly - Merodon equestris

Robber Fly - Merodon equestris
Lake Linda, Houghton County, Michigan, USA
April 1, 2014
A friend of mine who found what she thought was a bumble bee, but after noticing the antennae, I think it maybe
a robber fly. It showed up in her house and I think it was a bumble bee due to the antennae. Would anyone be
able to help with the identification. The Location is in the western part of the Upper Peninsula near Lake Micgygan.

Moved from ID Request.

Not a robber fly,
but Merodon equestris, the Narcissus bulb fly, Syrphidae. Good bumble bee mimic though.
