Mesquite Gall - Asphondylia prosopidis
San Pedro River Valley, SE of San Manuel, Pinal County, Arizona, USA
April 17, 2014
Size: Gall ~ 10 mm
Found these on the end of tiny branches (that I believe used to hold the flowers) of Velvet Mesquite Tree (Prosopsis velutina). I think they are Galls from Asphondylia prosopidis. Thank you.
