I would appreciate some help on this dragonfly. I used both Dragonflies and Damselflies of the East by Dennis Paulson and also Dragonflies & Damselflies of Georgia and the Southeast by Giff Beaton and didn't find a species that has that horizontal off-white line going down the thorax. I did think I remembered seeing a skimmer that had what looks like a white patch adjacent to the basal wing pattern but didn't spot that either when I was looking through my resources.

I have been experiencing very slow look ups on this site over the past two days. It takes over 2 minutes for page loads so relied on my books more than this site this time.

In my opinion - Miathyria marcella

seems to fit
Tramea calverti. Books rule!
