Scarabaeinae? - Boreocanthon simplex

Scarabaeinae? - Boreocanthon simplex
Keller, Ferry County, Washington, USA
May 9, 2014
Size: 7 mm

Moved from Tumblebugs.

almost certainly Canthon simplex
C. simplex is the only Canthon in the entire Pacific NW; this looks like a worn one (clypeal teeth are vaguely evident); any other possibility would be an adventive or, VERY unlikely, a new one.

thanks, Bill
the worn-off clypeal edge is exactly what made me wonder
