Sawfly Trails? - Nefusa ambigua

Sawfly Trails? - Nefusa ambigua
Desoto, Dallas County, Texas, USA
May 6, 2014
On violet leaves. Nefusa ambigua?

Tenthredinidae, Heterarthrinae
ok for Nefusa ambigua, at least no other sawfly known to mine violets. I have seen specimens from as far west as Arkansas and Missour so no reason why it shouldn't also occur in Texas.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.
This is apparently well outside the known range, but it is definitely a sawfly larva and the mine looks just like the others in the guide.

Clockwork
They show up every year in April/May.
