Syrphid - Somula decora for Virginia, and question - Somula decora
Leesylvania State Park, Prince William County, Virginia, USA

Looks closest to pollen to me
Looks closest to pollen to me - the uniform spherical shape and the fact that it's caught on the hairs looks very similar to the behavior of pollen on other hairy insects (I'm used to staring at pollen on bumblebees).

Thanks
I'm glad to hear it was pollen - it's a very beautiful fly
