pale-margined moss spider - Ozyptila

pale-margined moss spider - Ozyptila
Windham, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA
December 9, 2006
Size: 1.3 - 1.5 mm
Collected Jan. 1, 2007 by sifting hand-shredded moss samples gathered Dec. 9 from wooded area. I actively discriminated against dozens of tiny spiders of various species that had been living/hiding in the moss. Somehow this one made it into my light arena so I shot it.

Moved from Bassaniana.

Moved
Moved from Spiders. Wrong move, actually. It's one of three crab spider genera.

Interesting creature.
Glad you posted it!

Yes
It is a crab spiderling. Ozyptila, Xysticus, or Coriarachne.

If Coriarachne, we don't have any on site.

Thanks
Ron. Too much celebrating with Sierra Nevada.
Replace Coriarachne with Bassaniana, which is accepted world wide.

Sierra Nevada?
Who's she?
