I had a lot of trouble with this one. What would be a better angle? I might have something else, but it would be helpful to knee what to try for in the future.

not your fault
the best angle for beetles in general is the straight dorsal view (which should come first wherever you post a series); the second shot here is close enough, but your uncooperative model twisted its prothorax to preclude confident recognition :(
on the other hand, lateral views like the one here are quite useless for identification.
still, genus ID is reasonably safe.
here's an example of a good dorsal shot of what i suspect to be the same or closely related species:

Thanks! Yeah, I didn't manage to get any straight dorsal views of this one. Good to know lateral is useless; I won't bother uploading those in the future.

lots of exceptions and caveats
lateral shots tend to be useless if posted w/o a straight dorsal but can be very helpful additions to the latter in case of weevils.
and, btw, this only applies to beetles and some other taxa whose members tend to have dorsoventrally flattened bodies.
