I believe this is Rhanidea unicolor.

Collected August 2008. Specific date above is arbitrary to fulfill BG's date field.

Mighty colorful for a "unicolor" ;-)
Nomina Nearctica lists only one member of this genus, otherwise I'd be tempted to think it might be another species in the same genus. Here are some more images of this species.

btw, it may be pleasing to look at but the family's common name is Handsome Fungus Beetles.
