This species was first observed in North America by myrmecologist W.L.Brown, Jr. in Pennsylvania. I believe Philadelphia may have been the point of introduction.

Looking at the map that makes sense. This individual landed in my petri dish when I was releasing another specimen, must have wanted it's picture taken.
