Either Chalcosyrphus (Xylotom
Either Chalcosyrphus (Xylotomima) or Xylota - they're hard to tell apart without a view of the underside. Nice shot!

Using Jeff Skevington's "Field Guide to the Syrphidae of Northeastern North America," this looks very much like Chalcosyrphus nemorum, assuming the orange abdominal stripe is on the top of the fly?

Yeah - as you can see from the name, Chalcosyrphus (Xylotomima) looks a lot like Xylota!
