It was found on a dead oak at night. Didn't come to my light. Poking around at night with a flashlight is generally productive and will nab some interesting species.

Congratulations Brad. I've been seeing lymexylids all over the place but they've all turned out to be other beetle families. Just yesterday I went out stripping aspen bark trying to find one. I got excited over some strange larvae but concluded they were not lymexylids.

I'm thinking you might have photos or specimens at least of other families still missing from bugguide. Here is a list.

spelling is Melittomma - any collecting info? - on Chestnut, Oak, etc. One common name: Chestnut Timberworm.
