Unknown weevils - Sphenophorus aequalis

Unknown weevils - Sphenophorus aequalis
Minot, Ward County, North Dakota, USA
Size: 12 mm body without snout

Positive ID
This ID is fresh from the North Dakota State University Insect collection, and as such I am wondering if the other images shown for this species are not something else, as this morphology was pretty consistant throughout the specimens I examined.

ID confirmed by Charles O'Brien
Sphenophorus aequalis Gyllenhal

Moved
Moved from Beetles.

Sphenophorus sp.
Pretty sure this is a species in the genus Sphenophorus, but definitely something in that subfamily. I agree with the compliment on the clarity of the images:-)

No help with ID,
but I sure do appreciate your superb images.

Thanks for the compliment
I appreciate the compliments on my images, I take great pride in them. I do alot of imaging for publications, and being a psychotic perfectionist I can settle for no less than the best!
