Turret Spider - Geolycosa missouriensis

Turret Spider - Geolycosa missouriensis
Bunker Hills Regional Park, Anoka County, Minnesota, USA
May 18, 2014
This spider had a very interesting burrow with a short turret at the entrance, apparently made of bits of plant debris woven together. A quick search for "turret spider" turned up the genus Antrodiaetus. Can someone with more knowledge of spiders confirm or correct this? The burrow looks right, but the spider looks more like a wolf spider...

This was in a very sandy area with dunes nearby. There were many other holes in the ground, but this was the only turret I saw.

Moved from Geolycosa wrighti.
Oops, sorry about the double move. It looks like the options for MN are G. wrighti and G. missouriensis. G. missouriensis makes a turret whereas G. wrighti does not.

Love the pic Joel!

Yes!
I forgot to mention how wonderful the picture is. You don't always get a good shot of a Geolycosa who just happens to be close enough to the entrance of the burrow for a picture!

Thanks
I saw something move in the burrow as I walked past, so of course I had to wait for it to reappear to see what it was! It actually wasn't more than a couple minutes before the spider crawled up far enough for a picture.

Wolf Spider (Lycosidae)
It's an individual within the Geolycosa genus. You can tell by the fairly tall turret as well as the great "doomed" forehead on the individual.
