Wind Scorpion

Wind Scorpion
Sandstone Bluffs along the Rio Grande south of Flacon Dam, Starr County, Texas, USA
January 8, 2007
Size: 0.5"
I found this little Solifugae under a piece of sandstone along the Rio Grande. I'm not sure if it's an adult or not, but I did measure it (exactly half an inch).

Any help with ID is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Me too!
Superb images and quite a departure from other smaller-abdomened, longer-legged wind scorpion specimens and images I've seen. I wonder if this is a *way* gravid female.

Packed with eggs
Wow, yes, these are lovely images. I believe the white mottling on the abdomen is actually the outlines of eggs visible through the semi-transparent abdominal wall. The more I look at it, the more I think this is so.

awesome pic!

your photos
are fantastic man. They just catch my attention from the ID Request every time. You are most definitely one of the three best photographers I have seen photos of along with Jay Barnes.

P.S. sorry about what I shouted, I just had to get the point across.
