Large buprestid larva
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA

Size: about 38 mm
Found in fairly dry, sound wood of an aspen trunk section that was suspended upsidedown in a tangle of bittersweet vines. I suspect it is the same species as an adult whose remains I found (and photographed) that did not quite make it out of its exit hole in the same trunk section.
