tiny, compact, brown mite - Peloribates

tiny, compact, brown mite - Peloribates
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
January 7, 2007
Size: about 0.35 mm
Collected from long-dead aspen trunk section that was suspended upsidedown in a tangle of bittersweet vines. This little guy was very pokey on its short legs. I'm guessing it is in the order Oriba*tida.

The large whitish object on the left is the side of an underbark fly larva. Millimeter marks visible through bottom of clear plastic deli container.

"best shot" is Peloribates sp.

I erred at first
in interpretting Dr. Ueckermann's remarks and mistakenly assigned this one to Galumna sp. He only intended this to be assigned to order.
