Kelsey, could we change this
Kelsey, could we change this to O. antiphates / O. dimidiatus. Gil and I are positive that these are all one of those two species. The real question is whether there are two species or just one variable species.

This situation also occurs with O. fuscipennis and O. cylindricus.

Moved from Ocyptamus.

Ocyptamus antiphates
This is Ocyptamus antiphates which can be found in Florida according to a reference on Systema Dipterorum. The specimen keys out to this in a key to Ocyptamus and it seems this species has a great deal of variation in color.

Nope, this is claerly a Syrph
Nope, this is claerly a Syrphid genus Ocyptamus.

Feather-Legged Fly?
I think that's it, a type of tachinid.

If not, here's a wild guess - syrphid.
