I have no idea where to even begin with this. Wasp? Found it under porchlight at night. Would appreciate help with ID. Thanks a lot.

Check out
the Ichneumonoidea. The Ichneumon and Braconid wasps are a notoriously difficult group of thousands of species. Eric has been working on organizing some of the Ichneumon images. He and others should be able to tell you which family this is, but it's not often that they are able to get deeper than that.
