http://lterdev.fsl.orst.edu/lter/pubs/webdocs/reports/miller/PhotoScans/caterpillars/Noctuidae/Egira_crucialis_catrbk.jpgthis Caterpillar is being reared in this container so as not to have mixups..I photo the container lid then the cat then the lid. so its a true story. it was found at the grafted bottom of a pear tree feeding on the quince rootstock that's shot up a small shoot. I am finding that egiras build a shelter of silked together leaves they live in and its a filthy little mess.. these little cats bite savagely they will pinch on and hang on.
