Here is a group shot of these guys -- many of them crammed into crevices on a half-inch square wood chip from the rotten log.

did you use your MP-E 65mm lens for this one? The tiny detail is very impressive.

I used the MP-E 65mm lens -- thanks for your comment. I did take quite a few photos to try to get the beetles when there were as many as possible all lined up in the same plane so as many as possible would be in focus.
