I’m trying to learn to identify more insects to genus instead of stopping at family. I’m leaning towards Toxomerus sp. on this one?

Can anyone confirm or correct this?

Moved from Toxomerus.

Moved from Syrphid Flies.

Couple tips on flies
To get a tighter ID, it's good to have a view of the face - as you've done - and also the wings from above so the veins (venation)is visible. Often, that's easier said than done! I'm pretty sure you have enough here to get an ID on what I'm pretty sure is Toxomerus.
