Spider BG417 - Platycryptus undatus

Spider BG417 - Platycryptus undatus
Baton Rouge, Brookhollow Drive, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA
August 15, 2006
Size: body length 4.4 mm.
This emaciated creature showed up on my desk on August 15, 2006. I could not figure out what it was, so I fed and watered it until on Aug 27 I took the second photo. We then identified it as Platycryptus undatus. A reminder to me and perhaps others, that describing spider abdomens can be tricky business, as they are subject to much variation, both in pattern and condition.
