Long brown

Long brown "Looper"?
Skull Valley, AZ, USA (WSW of Prescott 10 miles), Yavapai County, Arizona, USA
August 19, 2006
Size: probably 1.5"
I saw single individuals from time to time this summer in my raspberry patch. It has a faint yellow pattern along its side near the top; It's long porportions and appendages make me think a kind of Lopper. The very small hornlike projections near one end only puzzle me. It's probably another common critter that I doon't know. Thanks for your help, BobP.

Still thinking Zale, but not enough pixels to say more with any certainty, sorry

Phil has seen these regularly and thinks
it to be Zale lunata. See

It has a kinda Zale or Catocala look
to it, but we can't identify which one.
