6-7 mm; on grape leaf in dry oak woods. Andy Hamilton IDed Troy's brown strongly-patterned individual as Ceresa (Stictocephala) diceros, and left the green ones at the genus level - presumably because the photos weren't identifiable to species. I wonder whether this uniformly brown one represents a different species and/or is identifiable... the squiggly black line isn't faithfully reproduced on the right side, so maybe it's just an anomaly?

Ceresa basalis
The venter is black, and often the rest of the body is also very dark. These insects are associated with willows.
